Description 

This course provides you with an understanding of the Domino REST API, including how it is installed, configured and used to securely access Domino applications and their documents.

The HCL Domino REST API (DRAPI) provides a secure REST API following the Domino server’s security model, granting access to Domino applications, and following the standard set of OpenAPI 3.0.
DRAPI can be used to integrate Domino applications with external systems, making an application and its data available to a wider audience.
Anything that speaks HTTP can interact with a Domino application. Based on security this may include reading, creating, modifying and deleting documents.

For example, in the case of an expense report filed by an employee, the approver and the employee can only edit the fields that correspond to their role.
An approver might be able to approve and add a remark only and an employee might be able to provide a subject, description, and cost only.

DRAPI Intro

While DRAPI is leveraged by developers, because it lives on the Domino server, Domino Administrators become key in its installation and management.

This course will provide Domino Administrators with the knowledge needed to effectively understand and govern DRAPI running on their Domino server/s. In addition, you may leverage the online documentation.

  • At the end of the course, you will be able to install, configure and manage the Domino REST API on your Domino servers, providing functionality without compromising security.
  • You will learn about the components of the Domino REST API that are added to the Domino server.
  • The videos and written courseware will provide you with an introduction to each topic. Lab exercises will help validate your understanding of them.

Prerequisites

Must have experience of HCL Domino administration and be currently licensed for HCL Domino CCB or HCL Volt MX Go to have entitlement to the Domino REST API.

To follow the exercises in this course, you will need the following.

  • Domino server with 12.0.2+ installed on Windows
  • Domino Designer client 12.0.2+ (Optional)
  • Domino Administrator client 12.0.2+
  • 7-Zip, or similar extracting software to extract tar and tar.gz files
  • Access to the HCL Software download portal
